Nathan M. Castillo

Nathan M. Castillo is a VP leading the quantitative research at Coqual. Most recently, he was Assistant Professor of Global Studies at the University of Illinois department of Education Policy, Organization, and Leadership. Dr. Castillo’s work focuses on technology innovation for improving education across the Global South, with an emphasis on social justice. Nathan’s research has produced dozens of journal articles, book chapters, and research reports including a 2022 volume on policy reform to support learning equity in low- and middle income-country contexts. After completing service in Guatemala with the United States Peace Corps, Dr. Castillo received a Master’s in International Education Policy from Harvard University and a PhD in Human Development from the University of Pennsylvania.
