Katherine Giscombe

Katherine Giscombe, founder of Giscombe & Associates, is a diversity and inclusion thought leader, researcher, and organizational change practitioner. She designed and co-led the groundbreaking study with Catalyst on race and gender in the workplace, Women of Color in Corporate Management: Opportunities and Barriers, sponsored by the Ford Foundation. The author of a series of reports based on that and subsequent research, she continues to be a national presence in creating solutions for under-represented groups and the organizations in which they work.

Katherine is a frequent presenter at business and academic conferences on topics including career development; glass and concrete ceiling issues; mentorship and sponsorship; and inclusive work environments. Katherine earned a PhD in organizational psychology from the University of Michigan and trained in research methodology at the Institute for Social Research. She has a multidisciplinary background, having conducted marketing research prior to her Catalyst work on women of color. Her areas of expertise also include the racial wealth gap, sexual harassment, and inclusion in the political arena.
