Jeyandini Fernando

Senior Director, Client Experience & Communications

“Good storytelling doesn’t just inform—it aligns, persuades, and moves people to act.”

Jeyandini Fernando is Senior Director of Client Experience & Communications at Coqual, where she leads strategy for how the organization shows up—through its brand, voice, storytelling, and relationships. A journalist by training and an advocate by instinct, Jeyandini brings a global lens and a deep sense of purpose to every word, message, and member experience she shapes.

At Coqual, she oversees external communications, member engagement strategy, and brand storytelling. Whether guiding how Coqual research is shared, shaping the arc of a summit, or ensuring client experience reflects the organization’s values, Jeyandini brings clarity, warmth, and strategic creativity to every touchpoint.

She began her career in global public health, serving as the solo communications lead for the Uganda Village Project, where she worked on maternal health initiatives and traveled village to village to connect patients to lifesaving care. That work ignited her passion for spotlighting stories from underrepresented voices —a commitment that carried into roles at Susan G. Komen and CNN, where she produced on the national morning shows and authored a widely-read essay on the search for brown role models in white-dominated media spaces.

Jeyandini holds a degree in Legal Studies, African-American Studies, and Journalism from SUNY Buffalo, and a master’s degree from Columbia University’s School of Journalism. Whether she’s amplifying voices, shaping experiences, or mentoring young communicators, she’s always asking: “Which voices demand attention today—and how do we ensure they resonate tomorrow?”
