Kent A. Gardiner

Kent A. Gardiner is a partner at Crowell & Moring LLP, a firm of 500 lawyers practicing in Washington, D.C., New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Orange County, London, and Brussels. A member of the Litigation and Antitrust groups, his practice focuses on antitrust and other complex litigation, including class actions, antitrust/intellectual property cases, and multidistrict litigation. He is a member of the New York and Washington, D.C. bars, as well as many federal, district and appellate courts. He served as Crowell & Moring’s chairman from 2006 to 2015 and resides in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. He currently is the head of the firm’s Strategic Growth Committee, and helps advance the firm’s diversity, inclusion and sponsorship efforts. Prior to entering private practice, he was a trial attorney with the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. In that position he tried various price-fixing, bid-rigging cases, as well as mail fraud, perjury and other criminal cases. He was responsible for directing numerous grand jury investigations involving antitrust, RICO and fraud charges. He has been recognized by Chambers USA 2008 as a leading lawyer in the area of antitrust law.

Kent earned a BA in economics and English Phi Beta Kappa from the State University of New York at Binghamton, and JD from Georgetown University Law Center cum laude.
